Tourism Tamworth kicks off the launch of it’s Back to Nature campaign for Father’s Day celebrations this weekend and is encouraging everyone to get outdoors and experience everything the Tamworth region has to offer. Nundle will be hosting an amazing Father’s Day spectacular with the Dag Sheep Station, the Peel Inn and Arc-en-Ciel Trout Farm bringing you a host of activities and dining options to spoil Dad and treat the family. A combination of live music, jumping castles, demonstrations, the Inaugural Father’s Day Fishing Competition and a rainforest hike will be on offer to keep the whole family entertained. Over the next couple of months Tourism Tamworth will be promoting the Tamworth, Manilla, Nundle and Barraba areas by showcasing a variety of free and paid events and activities on offer. With Spring around the corner Tourism Tamworth is encouraging locals and visitors of the region to get back to nature and enjoy the everything Tamworth and its surrounds has to offer.  A free nature trails information booklet has been developed as a guide to the region which details the activities on offer throughout Tamworth, Barraba, Nundle and Manilla.

The guide is called "Nature Trails in the Tamworth Region" which highlights activities such as bush walking, fossicking, bird watching, the top five action thrills in the region, nature drives and walks and the best locations to observe all things nature based.

Tourism Tamworth is happy to announce the arrival of the 2011 Tamworth Country Music Festival guide available at the Visitor Information Centre.  For anyone looking for assistance in planning their trip to next years festival or anyone who has been slightly interested about what the festival is all about, the guide is available free to all members of the public.

The guide is full of information for tourists and locals relating to accommodation options, festival venues, major events, helpful festivals tips and tricks, places of interest, festival essentials and much more. 

2011 will be the 39th celebration of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.  The guide highlights traditional events such as the Peel Street Busking, Longest Line Dance, Country Music Cavalcade and the CMMA Country Music Awards but also includes events and activities that visitors to the festival may not even be aware existed but are well worth incorporating into their itinerary.

The People of Tamworth and Australia now have the opportunity to settle the longstanding argument - What is Australia’s favourite event?  The Australian Event Awards is regarded as the pinnacle awards program for the Australian events industry. The Award categories are judged by an independent Industry Judging Panel and culminates in the prestigious Australian Event of the Year.  Australia’s Favourite Event is decided purely by public vote. The winner will be announced at the Australian Event Awards presentation in October 2010.

The Tamworth Country Music Festival has been nominated to receive this prestigious award.  Now it is up to the public to vote, this can be done by visiting http://australiasfavouriteevent.com.au and using the event code: Tamworth.

Your Town, Your Song is a national competition calling for lyrics that capture the essence of listeners’ home towns. The winning entry will be given star treatment with Golden Guitar winners Ian Quinn creating a melody and Felicity Urquhart recording the song, which will be broadcast across ABC Radio.
