TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Load-In and Load Out
Two 6m x 6m high loading doors allow for truck and machinery access from a 2, 500 square metre rear parking compound through an undercover 600 square metre rear storage area and then directly into the auditorium. Two roller acoustic doors control noise emissions. This arrangement provides flexibility of entry and loading and unloading. Local crewing services can be arranged.
The auditorium, undercover storage area and rear parking compound are all on the same level.
Floor Area, Loading Capacity and Clear Span Height
The Centre has a clear floor area of 4, 800 square metres, with a clear span height of 8.5 metres at the side walls, rising to a height of 11.5 metres in the centre of the auditorium.
The floor surface is a smooth finish, flat concrete structural floor slab, with a floor load level that meets T44 Truck Loading (GVM 44 tonnes)
Power
Power is supplied from a 1, 500 kVA pad mount substation 11kV/1433V250 adjacent to the building.
Event power is available from a 400 amp/phase, 3-phase neutral and earth supply on the main switch board. On the auditorium back wall a 100 amp/phase, 3-phase neutral and earth supply distribution board dedicated to audio supply and an additional distribution board supplying 200amp/phase 3 phase.
5 x 10 amp single phase and 32 amp/phase, 3-phase neutral and earth supply situated on each the side walls of the auditorium.
1 x 32 amp/phase, 3-phase neutral and earth supply outlet situated on the end auditorium wall.
3-phase power sufficient to meet the requirements of Outside Broadcast Vans to the rear of the Centre.
19 in-floor service pits linked by a large diameter conduit to allow power requirements to be accessed across the floor area.
18 roof mounted power droppers set out to provide an easily accessible power grid to complement the in-floor pits.
Rigging Guidelines
Roof trusses with a load capacity of up to 8 tonnes each run across the building at 10 metre intervals. Bottom chord ties to all trusses extend from the back of the stage wall to beyond the centre of the building at 4 metre intervals. These bottom chord ties have a loading capacity of 1 tonne loading at any one point.
A battery operated power lift platform (K12) is located onsite for rigging duties. Licensed riggers approved by the venue management must be used.
Acoustic Performance
The Centre is constructed to contain noise emissions to surrounding residential neighbourhoods. Noise levels must not exceed those allowed by the current EPA requirements. Acoustic bats and theatrical curtaining have been installed to enhance the acoustic performance.
Lighting
House lighting: Dual metal halide/quartz iodine high bays provide general illumination to the central auditorium area. Provision is available in the roof for power pick up points to mount specific spectator lighting and primary illumination lighting.
Stage and event lighting: A basic lighting system is provided including 60 meters of tri-truss, lighting instruments, console and dimmer channels and rigging. The Lighting System is a mobile system allowing it to be easily re-configured in line with the requirements of various modes and performances/events (eg concerts, conferences, exhibitions etc).
Portable lighting: Portable lighting can be utilised in various areas throughout the venue.
Sound
A multi zone paging system for announcements and music playback provides coverage to all areas of the venue. In the main auditorium this system is set up as an enhanced public address suitable for conferences and exhibitions.
Portable PA: A portable Audio System is available and can be utilised in all areas of the venue. This can also be used to enhance the above public address system in the main auditorium.
