The Tamworth region produces premium beef, lamb, poultry, grain and diary products as well as an array of pastures, vegetables and legumes. To the plate, brands such as Eleston Olives, Barramundi, Arc-En-Ciel Trout, Koolkuna Berries, Bellata Gold Pasta, Peel Valley Milk, coffee and Quast Turkeys can all be found in supermarkets and speciality shops across Australia.
The equine and livestock industries thrive in the Tamworth region. In the international and national arenas Tamworth is known as the eastern seaboard mecca for some of the best livestock in the country.
Many visitors are also surprised to learn that Tamworth is actually one of the primary pilot-training facilities in Australia for international and Australian students.
The manufacturing and retail sectors are also very strong in the Tamworth region. As a light manufacturing centre for the New England North West region, Tamworth is a retail centre servicing some 100,000 people.
