Kootingal
Just 20 kilometres from Tamworth is the township of Kootingal a popular residential area for people who work in Tamworth and a rich alluvial agricultural region for Lucerne, fruit and vegetables being the major products. Kootingal also has a number of heritage buildings the most famous is Moonbi House while each April, the Kootingal is also the home of the annual Pumpkin Festival.
Moonbi
Moonbi lies on the New England Highway at the foot of the Moonbi Range, just 20 minutes north east of Tamworth. Continue your travels up the Range and stumble the Moonbi Lookout with some of the most breathtaking views of the region. Moonbi is also the home of renowned artist Fred Hiller and his ceramic studio.
