The new Manilla Visitor Information Centre has been tried and tested over the last few months with the 10th FAI World Paragliding Championships held in the town during February/March. Receiving Level Three Accreditation only weeks ago, Manilla is now set to welcome home Fiona Coote AM to her old stomping ground to officially open the Centre on the morning of Tuesday 15th May 2007. Australia is an image conscious nation, and the weight loss drive has seen a fixation on reality television program “Australia’s Biggest Loser”, which has just completed its second series. Both smiling winners have now decided to return to Tamworth in hope of giving something back to the local community. At 12noon on Saturday 19th May 2007, the now trim, taught and terrific gym junkies will host a fundraising lunch in aid of the FRIENDS OF NIOCA, an organisation that works directly to assist the Palliative Care Centre.
