Manilla is a charming country town with a big reputation. Since the 1990's Manilla has established an international reputation as an ideal location for aero sports.

The areas frequent rising currents of warm air known as thermals, combined with the geography of Mt Borah which allows pilots to take off in almost any wind direction, makes it one of the world's best launch locations. As one of the best paragliding, sky sailing and hang-gliding sites, Mount Borah at Manilla annually hosts Australian and International Paragliding and Hang-gliding competitions.

During February/March 2007 Manilla and Mount Borah played host to the World's best at the World Paragliding Championships.You can learn to paraglide at Manilla Paragliding (located on Mount Borah) or take flight with a tandem glide under the supervision of Australia's most qualified instructors.
